Lafayette beats Lehigh again, takes over second place

Tony Johnson's career day helped lift Lafayette over Lehigh for the second time this season, 79-71 at the Kirby Sports Center on Sunday.
Johnson tied a career-high with 29 points, going 10-for-12 from the floor, including 5-for-5 from three-point land.
The performance comes after the senior hit back-to-back, last-second, game-winning shots in the Leopards' previous two games.
The win was Lafayette's second this season over the Mountain Hawks, and helped the Leopards leapfrog Lehigh for second place in the Patriot League standings.
Both teams now stand at 8-4 in the Patriot League, two games behind first place Bucknell.
Lafayette owns the tiebreaker though thanks to their series sweep of the Mountain Hawks.
The Leopards trailed most of the first half before rallying to tie the game at 64-64 with five minutes to play.
From there, Lafayette went on a 10-0 run, including back-to-back threes from Johnson, to put the game away.
That spurt was part of a larger 27-7 Lafayette run that helped give the Leopards the lead for good.
Lafayette has now won three in a row, and will travel to Colgate Wednesday night at 7pm.
Lehigh has lost three in a row, and will host Navy Wednesday night at 7pm at Stabler Arena.
