The Central Catholic boys and Becahi girls were among the winners as LVC play opened on the basketball court Friday night.
The Vikings beat Dieruff 74-61, behind 32 points from Muhammad Ali Abdur Rahkman. Dieruff was in the game all night, Tyler Kohl's 25 points helping the Huskies keep the game close throughout.
Allen's boys beat Emmaus in a game moved up from Saturday, winning 69-58. The Canaries were led by Isaiah Palmer who had 20 points in the win.
Becahi's girls opened LVC play with a win over cross-town rival Liberty, 58-47. Kalista Walters had 21 points to lead the Golden Hawks who won state silver last season and appear primed for another run at the title this winter.
