Kutztown falls to Millersville in overtime

Kutztown was healthy enough to put players on the floor Monday and nearly pulled out a win, but Millersville proved too much in overtime.

The Kutztown men's basketball team has struggled this year and it's not difficult to see why.  Go to any game in the last month or so and you'll see they are playing with one of the shortest benches in NCAA history because of injuries.

The Golden Bears have played most of their PSAC games with six or seven players.  Saturday, they weren't even going to have that. Their game with Millersville was pushed back to Monday so that they would be healthy enough to even play the game.

Play the game they did. In fact, KU held a six-point lead late, but could not hold on and fell to Millersville, 66-59, in overtime.

Micah Fraction poured in a game-high 30 points for the Golden Bears. Ryan Connolly added 16, but no other KU player had more than 6.

Kutztown will host Cheyney on Wednesday. The Golden Bears can still make the playoffs with three games left.
