POCONO SUMMIT, Pa. -

The footprints in the snow may have given him away.

Pocono Mountain Regional Police said they caught a man inside a Monroe County home Wednesday.

Police were called to 6298 Laurel Road in The Stillwater Estates in Pocono Summit around 2 p.m. and said a witness saw a man break into the home.

Officers saw fresh footprints in the snow entering the house, but none exiting.

The police K-9 unit arrived, but the dog was not able to find anyone inside, police said.

The SWAT team was activated when police thought the burglar might be armed, and the team found 29-year-old Kirson Vasquez-Lantigua of Pocono Summit, hiding in a corner of the attic.

Vasquez-Lantigua is charged with burglary, criminal trespass and related charges.
