KU, Albright gear up for season finales
The Kutztown University football team will wrap up it's season on Saturday when they host LIU Post. This game was originally scheduled for November 3rd but after Hurricane Sandy came through, the game was pushed to this weekend.
The extra rest did the Golden Bears good. They won convincingly at Edinboro last weekend for their third consecutive victory.
For the KU seniors, they'd love to push that win streak to four on Saturday.
Even though the Golden Bears didn't make the PSAC playoffs this year, they have a chance to finish with 7 wins and above .500 in the conference.
Not a bad way for a group of seniors to end their very successful tenure at KU.
The Albright Football team also finished their season strong. The Lions won four out of their last five ball games, including a win over rival Lebanon Valley last week. The team finished with a 7-3 record. That mark was good enough to earn a spot in the ECAC South-East Bowl on Saturday.
The Lions don't have far to go. They'll play Franklin and Marshall College at noon Saturday in Lancaster.
Albright really wants to cap off this late season run with a victory in the bowl game.
The run was sparked after week five. The team had just lost to Delaware Valley for a second loss in as many weeks.
The Lions said they faced a simple choice. They made one, and haven't looked back ever since.
