EMMAUS, Pa. -

One of the men vying to be the next mayor of Emmaus, Lehigh Co., is dropping out the race.

Republican Julian Stolz said he's officially withdrawn his name from the ballot. He said he was only running because Mayor Winnie Iobst, the Democrat running for re-election, was part of the group "Mayors Against Illegal Guns."

Stolz said he thinks the group is unconstitutional, but he said Iobst has since withdrawn from the group, so Stolz said he has no reason left to run.

Stolz also said he's dropping out of the race for Emmaus Borough Council, but he will remain a member of the East Penn School Board.
