JACKSON TWP., Pa. -

A Monroe County man died Monday when a tree he was cutting touched a electrical line, officials said.

The accident happened around 12:45 p.m. at a home on Magnolia Lane in Jackson Township.

Jimmy Hernandez was cutting trees on the property when one of them came in contact with the power line, said Bob Allen, the Monroe County coroner.

Hernandez, 32, of East Stroudsburg, died at the scene, but firefighters couldn't remove his body from the tree until the utility company could shut off power to the electrical line, officials said.
