Jeremy Snyder, Cody Stelma, Michael Drummond facing drug charges after traffic stop in Easton
Three men were arrested on drug charges after police stopped and searched a car they were riding in, officials said.
Jeremy W. Snyder, Cody W. Stelma and Michael A. Drummond were taken into custody after police pulled over their green Chevy Malibu in the 200 block of South 10th Street in Easton at 2:10 p.m. Monday, officials said.
Police began following the car after it made a stop in the 2100 block of Butler Street in Wilson, Northampton Co., and Snyder entered a home for a brief time, officials said.
Officers saw marijuana on the floor on the front passenger's side of the car and found a coat with a large bag of marijuana and 20 packets of heroin, said officials, adding that cocaine, oxycodone and a digital scale were also found in the car.
A small bag of marijuana was later discovered in Stelma's underwear at headquarters, they added.
Snyder took a swing at one of the officers as he was being handcuffed at the scene, and tried to run away before he was wrestled to the ground, officials said.
Snyder, 22, of 26 N. 11th St., Easton, was arraigned on three charges of possession with intent to deliver as well as resisting arrest; Stelma, 22, of 5647 Sherwood Drive, Plainfield Twp., Northampton Co., was arraigned on two charges of possession with intent to deliver; and Drummond, 19, of 254 West St. Joseph's St., Easton, was arraigned on a charge of delivery of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communications facility, according to court documents.
Bail was set at $50,000 for Snyder, $25,000 for Stelma, and $2,000 for Drummond, and all three were committed to the Northampton County Prison, according to court documents.
A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Dec. 6 for Snyder; 10 a.m. Dec. 6 for Drummond and 11 a.m. Dec. 6 for Stelma.
Drummond was also arraigned Monday on drug charges from an incident last May 24, when he allegedly sold cocaine to an undercover informant at a gas station parking lot at 25th and Northampton streets in Wilson.
Bail was set at $2,000 in that case, court papers show.
A preliminary hearing on those charges is set for 10 a.m. Dec. 6.
