BRANCH TWP., Pa. -

A Schuylkill County man is in in the hospital after he was ejected through a windshield when his SUV hit a mound of ice.

It happened around 2:50 a.m. Friday as 27-year-old Jamie Lee Gerber was traveling south on Route 209/Bunting Street at Willing Street in Branch Twp.

State police said Gerber, of Pine Grove, was attempting to turn left onto Willing Street, but overshot the street and first hit an ice mound, then an embankment off the road.

The SUV overturned onto its passenger side when it came to rest.

Police said as the SUV was overturning, Gerber was ejected from the vehicle through the windshield and landed in the grass at 319 Willing Street.

Gerber was flown via Medivac to Lehigh Valley Hospital. There's no word on his condition.
