Ivelisse Politan tries to stiff hotel of $5,000 bill, police say

A woman who stayed in a Northampton County hotel for six months never paid the bill, police said.

Colonial Regional Police said 47-year-old Ivelisse Politan of Northampton Street in Easton, stayed at the Marriott TownePlace Suites from June to November of 2012.

She was evicted from the hotel,, located at 3800 Easton Nazareth Highway in Lower Nazareth Twp., Northampton County, because she didn't pay the $5,052 room bill, police said.

Hotel officials tried several times to have Politan make payments on the bill, with no luck, police said.

On Jan. 23, hotel management filed charges with police against Politan.

On Monday she turned herself in, was arraigned on a theft of services charge and released on $7,000 unsecured bail.
