A tractor trailer that lost its rear set of wheels caused traffic troubles on Interstate 78 for a few hours on Monday.

TILDEN TWP., Pa. -

A tractor trailer that lost its rear set of wheels caused traffic troubles on Interstate 78 for a few hours on Monday.

The accident happened shortly before 2 p.m. Monday, forcing state police to close the westbound lanes of I-78 in Tilden Twp., Berks Co., until about 5:30 p.m.

During that time, traffic was detoured off the highway at the Lenhartsville exit and directed to follow Old Route 22 to Shartlesville.

Crews earlier were able to open one lane of I-78 West to allow for a backlog of traffic to pass by the scene but had to close the highway again to remove the tractor trailer.

No one was injured in the mishap, police said.
