READING, Pa. -

Hundreds of people turned out Wednesday to bid farewell to Ja-Lexy Bobet.

The 3-year-old girl was struck by a hit-and-run driver on Cotton Street, near her home, in south Reading, last Thursday, police said. Ja-Lexy later died at the hospital.

Family and friends gathered Wednesday morning for her funeral at St. Peter's Church on South 5th Street.

Some mourners wore memorial t-shirts with Ja-Lexy's photo on them as her small casket was carried inside the church.

The driver of the truck that police said hit Ja-Lexy, Justin Taylor, was arrested Friday and charged with vehicular homicide.

Taylor, 18, of South Heidelberg Twp., Berks Co., was driving without a license, police said. He remains behind bars in the Berks County Jail.
