WYOMISSING, Pa. -

A popular restaurant in Berks County has abruptly closed its doors, at least for now.

The Hooters at Paper Mill Road and Berkshire Boulevard in Wyomissing closed for business Monday night and didn't reopen Tuesday, according to store employees.

The restaurant location's owner, Cornett Hospitality, reportedly lost its franchise license. The Virginia-based Cornett, which owns several other Hooters restaurants in Pennsylvania, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in November.

According to the bankruptcy filing, Cornett owes its creditors as much as $10 million.

Hooters opened the Wyomissing location in 2006. The restaurant was originally located in Muhlenberg Township.

Hooters America, the restaurant's parent company, has not returned calls seeking comment.
