2 people flown from accident in Limerick; 4 others hurt

LIMERICK TWP., Pa. -

Six people were injured, two seriously, in an accident near Pottstown on Wednesday, police said.

The accident, involving a car and an SUV, was reported at 2:44 p.m. at Ridge Pike and Fruitville Road in Limerick Twp., Montgomery Co.

Two of the six victims suffered serious injuries in the accident,said Sgt. Paul Marchese, Limerick Twp. Police Dept. They were transported by ambulance to a nearby airfield and then transferred to medical helicopters.

One of the victims was flown to Reading Hospital; the other was flown to a hospital in Philadelphia.

Two other victims were transported by ambulance to Reading Hospital; the other two went to Pottstown.

Police are still trying to determine what caused the accident.
