UPPER HANOVER TWP., Pa. -

State police say they are investigating a strange case involving illegal hunting and a deer's head being stolen from an Upper Hanover Township garage.

According to police, on Nov. 27, a trophy nine-point buck was illegally hunted and shot in Green Lane Park in the area of the 1500 block of Layfield Road.

Someone found the deer alive on park property and humanely killed the deer, police said. He then transported the deer to his residence and stored it in his garage.

That's when the suspects(s) entered the garage and stole the deer head and hide, and left the carcass behind. The suspects(s) then fled on Route 663 in an unknown direction, according to police.

A $1,500 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest of the suspects(s).

Those with information pertaining to this case are asked to contact the State Police Skippack station at 610-410-7841.
