A longstanding legal battle over a slice of farmland in Lehigh County is heading back to the courtroom.

HARRISBURG, Pa. -

A longstanding legal battle over a slice of farmland in Lehigh County is heading back to the courtroom.

Developer David Jaindl first unveiled in 2010 his plans to build warehouses, homes and a shopping center on 700 acres of land in Lower Macungie Township.

For the past three years, a group of residents has been fighting the development.

A Lehigh County judge put the project on hold in 2011, but the Commonwealth Court reversed that decision last month.

A group of nine residents appealed the ruling to the state Supreme Court on Monday.

Jaindl outlined a revised plan for the development late last week, and while residents said it will cut down on the commercial and residential development of the land, they say it will increase the industrial development.
