GILBERTON, Pa. -

A Schuylkill County police force, made famous for what its chief was doing off-the-clock, will soon be no more.

The Gilberton Borough Council says it will begin to dismantle its police department.

The announcement comes a week after former Gilberton Police Chief-- and sole member of the force-- Mark Kessler signed a settlement agreement with the borough.

Kessler was suspended last July for using borough weapons in graphic YouTube videos.

Now the council says State Police will patrol the area.
