Fundraisers planned for family of fallen Plymouth police officer

A very "sweet" fundraising event this weekend will help the family of fallen officer Brad Fox, who was killed in the line of duty in Montgomery County last week.
"When I saw the picture of who it was, I knew who it was because his daughter looks just like him. Beautiful baby girl," said Diane Clarke, who lives near Fox's family.
An idea sparked by Clarke and neighbor Kristi McColgan's children resulted in plans for a bake sale to be held on Sunday in front of four area businesses, with all the money raised going to Fox's widow, their daughter and their unborn child.
The initial idea grew beyond anyone's expectations, said McColgan, because of Facebook and the media.
"We started off with just people in the community that offered to bake goods, and as information got spread, people have just been contacting how can I donate, how can I help, can I volunteer," said McColgan.
The four businesses are Freed's Market in Gilbertsville, Rita's on Route 73 in Boyertown, Kelly's World Class Automotive in Limerick Township, and Hollenbach Home Center in Boyertown.
Freed's Market's bake sale will go from 10 a.m until 2 p.m. on Sunday.
"It seems like it's going to be a big event," said Sandy Freed, manager of Freed's Market.
Rita's bake sale will be held from 1 p.m. until 5 p.m.; Kelly's World Class Automotive's sale will go from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.; and Hollenbach Home Center from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
If you want to skip the sweets, donations can be made at all four locations. You can also purchase an arm band that was created in memory of Ofc. Fox, with all proceeds going to Fox's family.
"Every single penny of it," said Clarke.
"Communities can really be tight knit when it comes down to it. We do have each other's back," said McColgan.
