Fourth convenience store robbery in a week

Wawa robbed in Carbon County

KIDDER TWP., Pa. -

Police from more than a half-dozen departments were called to respond to an armed robbery in Carbon County.

It happened at the Wawa on Route 940 nearĀ  Interstate 80 in Kidder Township around 10 Sunday night.

Police say the man showed a semi-automatic weapons to the clerk and made off with several hundred dollars in cash.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall. He was wearing a red ski mask, black North Face jacket with gray shoulders, faded jeans and boots.

Police said he was last seen leaving the Wawa on foot.

This is the fourth robbery of convenience stores in the past week.

Two Fegley's locations have been hit in Schulykill County and a Turkey Hill was robbed in Nesquehoning.

Police are not saying whether the incidents are related.
