ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

The former owner of the Americus Hotel in Allentown has paid off a fine, years after he was busted for taking part in a bogus business deal.

Mark Mendelson has paid the remainder of a $1 million penalty, according to court documents.

Mendelson was ordered to pay the fine after pleading guilty to bribery and conspiracy in 2008.
