ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

Firefighters in Allentown had their hands full with a fire that gutted an apartment building Tuesday afternoon.

The fire was reported around 2:45 p.m. in the 400 block of Linden Street.

The flames started on the first floor of the building and then quickly spread to the second, said Capt. John Christopher, Allentown Fire Dept.

Crews worked about 15 minutes to bring the fire under control.

No one was hurt, but eight people were displaced from the three apartments in the building.

Investigators have not yet determined what sparked the fire.

The American Red Cross Lehigh Valley assisted three families by providing food, clothing, lodging and comfort kits.
