Families at local schools shocked by Conn. school shooting

Parents and grandparents are putting themselves in the shoes of the parents in Connecticut who lost their children.
At 13th and Union Elementary school at dismissal time Friday, many of the parents were already aware of what happened. Regardless of how they heard people said it was just so sad.
A regular dismissal at 13th and Union Elementary in Reading was the antithesis of what happened at Sandy Hook Elementary in Newtown, Connecticut. And parents said that tragedy was fresh in their minds.
"I got kids and I got fivr kids in this school right now," said Ivianette Baez, "If something happens to my kids I think I go crazy."
Parents and grandparents of children the same age as the 20 who lost their lives questioned why did innocent children have to die.
"It's really sad someone has to take that out on somebody else's family," said Kenneth Hayward.
Parents said they take precautions to protect their kids.
"I pick him up and drop him off," said Hayward, "I'm only two blocks away from here. I don't allow him to go home by himself."
But the best intentions couldn't prevent what happened.
"It makes you think a lot of stuff it can happen right here anytime too," said Pablo Saez, "There's no difference here."
Wherever it happened parents feel for other parents.
"Can you imagine right now Christmas time next year they're going to be sad again because it happened," said Saez, "That's for the rest of their life. It's not just today that it happened."
"It's terrible to begin with. When it's the holidays, it's worse. The poor parents," said Orpha Koch.
"Very very very bad," Ilie Recalo as he shook his head.
