EASTON, Pa. -

A man was arrested for roughing up his girlfriend's son and then attacking her when she tried to break it up, officials said.

Anthony M. Slack grabbed his girlfriend's son, threw him to the floor and punched him several times in their home in the 200 block of Nesquehoning Street in Easton at 5:40 a.m. Dec. 8, and then grabbed his girlfriend by the neck when she tried to separate them, officials said.

The son told police he was trying to defend his mother when he began arguing with Slack, who was drunk and abusive, officials said.

The age of the son was not listed in court papers.

Slack, 57, was arraigned early Sunday morning on assault and harassment charges and committed to the Northampton County Prison on $25,000 bail, according to court documents.

A preliminary hearing is set for 9 a.m. Dec. 26.
