Some local students are ready to take the new school year by storm thanks to a special shopping spree.

LOWER NAZARETH TWP., Pa. -

Some local students are ready to take the new school year by storm thanks to a special shopping spree.

Thirty Easton-area students were given $80 Target gift cards to purchase back to school items.

Tuesday those students put the gift cards to good use at the Target in Lower Nazareth Township.

Members of the Salvation Army were on hand to help the kids with their shopping.

They say it feels good to participate in this type of event.

"It's a blessing, to me it's a fulfillment, ya know, to be here and help these kids and see the smile on their face," said Salvation Army Lt, Dabiel Valdes.

Target and the Salvation Army hold this annual back to school spree all over the country.
