PHILADELPHIA -

A change of heart? Just a week after Chip Kelly said he was staying at the University of Oregon, it's official: Kelly will be coming to Philadelphia after all.

The Eagles reached an agreement with Kelly on Wednesday.

The team's website said after the Fiesta Bowl Jan. 3, , Kelly met with Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie, team president Don Smolenski and general manager Howie Roseman for nearly nine hours. Even after Kelly decided to remain at Oregon, he "continued to evaluate the opportunity to work for the Eagles in the NFL," according  to philadelphiaeagles.com.

The 49-year-old coach earned a $2.8 million base salary last season at Oregon and has five years remaining on his contract.

He was 46-7 in four seasons with the Ducks. This will be Kelly's first head coaching job in the NFL.
