PennDOT is in the process of discussing big changes that would reduce headaches for drivers on the West Shore Bypass.

PennDOT gave drivers a chance to review the results of a study on the highway Thursday night and give their own input.

Officials say the stretch of highway between the Warren Street Bypass and Lancaster Avenue is known for accidents and even more cars are expected to travel the already busy route.

"Traffic growth has projected over the next 20 years, that it will require three lanes in each direction from Lancaster Avenue west to Warren Street Bypass,” said project manager Frank Eells

Officials say they hope to get construction started in the next five to ten years.
