BETHLEHEM, Pa. -

One of the candidates for Bethlehem Mayor is laying out his agenda for the city's quality of life.

And it's drawing the ire of his competitor.

City Councilman Bob Donchez spoke Wednesday on the city's south side.

The Democrat says if he's elected mayor the city will continue to offer rehabilitation loan and grant programs for low and middle-income families.

"Home ownership usually brings a better quality of life. It brings more stability to neighborhoods but we also have to have strong code enforcement," said Donchez.

Donchez also wants to improve and expand the city's parks and offer healthy living programs.

His competitor, fellow councilman William Reynolds, has his own neighborhood-centered initiative.

It also includes housing improvements plus neighborhood improvement committees and a volunteer program.

But Reynolds is also making allegations about Donchez' motives and the two are now trading barbs.
