PHILADELPHIA, Pa. -

Legendary Phillies catcher Darren Daulton made his first public appearance since being diagnosed with brain cancer Friday night.

The 51-year-old Daulton had two brain tumors removed back on July 1st.

He was diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer.

It's the same cancer that took the lives of former Phillies Tug McGraw and John Vukovich.

Daulton says he was having problems expressing himself during his radio show.

"There was a couple of appearances that showed up that I couldn't figure what was going on," he said.

Daulton also thanked Phillie fans for their support.

Daulton and his teammates from the 1993 Philles are being honored by the team this weekend.

The '93 Phils won the National League pennant.
