Pa. Attorney General

Tim Curley, left, Penn State University's former athletic director, and Gary Schultz, PSU's former senior vice president for finance and business, are accused of failing to report alleged child abuse by the university football team's former defensive coordinator, Jerry Sandusky.

Two former Penn State officials accused of lying to a grand jury investigating Sandusky say they want separate trials.

Defense lawyers have asked for the criminal cases of former athletic director Tim Curley and retired vice president Gary Schultz to be split.

Curley and Schultz are also accused of not reporting suspected child abuse.

Both men have pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Their trial is scheduled to start in January.
