She is accused of being the mastermind behind a robbery that resulted in her grandmother's death.
Now a Wilson woman and her boyfriend are on trial.
Both Rebecca Johnson and Rogel Suero say they didn't do it.
But one witness on the stand Tuesday claims they did, because he was right there with them.
David Bechtold, 19, says his cousin Rebecca Johnson told him back in January of 2012 that she wanted to rob her grandmother.
Bechtold says Johnson offered him $1,000 to drive her boyfriend Rogel Suero to the Wilson borough home of 76-year-old Carrie Smith.
In the middle of the night on January 15, 2012, Smith frantically called 911, telling dispatchers that two men broke into her home, put a gun to her head and made her open the safe she had in the house.
Hours later, Smith, who suffered from lung disease, was taken to the hospital for a heart attack.
She died two months later.
The coroner ruled her death a homicide, brought on by the stress of the robbery.
Bechtold was given immunity for his testimony.
Now the prosecution is trying to convince the jury to convict Johnson and Suero of homicide.
It's unknown if Johnson will testify, but Suero's attorney Phil Lauer says he will.
"As the trial develops, you will hear eventually from him his version that is clearly he was not involved in this," said Lauer.
Smith's family was tearful throughout Tuesday's testimony.
Each one of them wore a pin with her picture and the saying "Justice for Carrie."
