Coroner IDs victim of city's first homicide, seeks family

The coroner is looking for help in tracking down the family of a young man who was shot and killed over the weekend.

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

The coroner is looking for help in tracking down the family of a young man who was shot and killed over the weekend.

Hagos Mezgebo was shot early Saturday morning in the 200 block of Fountain Street in Allentown.

He was later found dead in front of a home in the 900 block of Chew Street. The coroner said Mezgebo, 22, of 224 North 13th St., died of multiple gunshot wounds in what was Allentown's first homicide of 2012.

The coroner asks anyone with information about Mezgebo's next of kin to call 610-782-3426.

Police and the Lehigh County district attorney's office continue to investigate the killing.

No arrests have been made.
