Copper piping a hot commodity

EAST ROCKHILL TWP., Pa. -

Thieves broke into three separate Bucks County homes this week, solely for the purpose of stealing copper piping, police said.

Pennridge Police said they're investigating three residential burglaries which happened in the past three days.

All three houses were in East Rockhill Twp. All three were also unoccupied, and were on the market for sale.

On Monday, someone broke into a house in the 1800 block of Three Mile Run by forcing open a rear door. The burglar stole copper piping from the basement.

Further down the same street, in the 2500 block, burglars broke into another unoccupied house Tuesday. The person gained entrance by breaking out a pane of glass in the front door. Copper piping was taken from the basement., according to police.

Also on Tuesday, someone broke into a house in the 2900 block of Route 313 and stole copper piping from the basement, police said.
