We're learning new details about a one-man, multi-state crime spree that cut a path through our region.

The suspect is accused of orchestrating a chaotic, violent morning last Friday.

The charges are pending because they have not been filed in Warren County court.

One assault took place at the Delaware Water Gap Recreational Area, the worker was beat up after being on the job for five days.

It was a wild Friday morning for several people who came in contact with 33 year-old Luis Figueroa.

Police say the crime spree started in Hazleton where Figueroa tried to kidnap a woman who was eight months pregnant.

After that didn't happen, police say Figueroa abducted another woman, drove down Interstate 80 east bound and stopped at the Delaware Water Gap Recreational Area.

"Around 10 o'clock on Friday early morning, one of our employees was assaulted on the grounds of the Kittatinny Point Visitors Center," said spokeswoman, Kathleen Sandt.

Park officials say the investigation is ongoing, but believe the assault on the employee occurred after the woman being held hostage by Figueroa drove away while he was outside the vehicle.

Figueroa then allegedly stole the park employee's vehicle and headed further east stopping in Paterson, New Jersey.

Investigators say Figueroa tried to trade in the van for another car, but when that didn't happen, he set fire to the dealership.

"Somebody came over yelling fire, fire," said a business owner across the street from the car dealership. "A couple of guys from my shop, they grab a fire extinguisher, went across the street and tried to put the fire out."

Police say Figueroa then stole a car and continued east.

A New Jersey - New York Port Authority spokesperson tells us Figueroa slammed into an SUV at the Fort Lee toll booths, and then hit two more Port Authority vehicles on the George Washington Bridge before being taken into custody.

Figueroa is facing a number of charges including sexual assault, kidnapping, car jacking and unlawful possession of a weapon.

Once again all of these are pending charges.

Luis Figueroa has not appeared in court because he is in a New York hospital being treated for burns according to police.
