Authorities in Hunterdon Co., N.J., have found a body they said is believed to be that of Sarah Majoras.
Officials have not yet made a positive identification, but they have notified Majoras' family of the discovery.
Earlier, Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony Kearns, made a plea to the public for help in the case.
Kearns met with reporters near the spot where Majoras was last recorded by surveillance cameras after she walked across the bridge over the Delaware River from New Hope, Bucks Co., Pa., toward her home in Lambertville early Saturday morning.
Majoras, 39, had just left a bar where she works as a bartender in New Hope, officials said.
An all-out search for the missing Lambertville woman continues, Kearns said.
"We're using all resources available to us to search for Ms. Majoras," said Kearns.
Agencies involved include dive teams and marine units, as well as the FBI and state and local police, said Kearns, adding that Majoras' disappearance is still being treated as a missing person case.
"While we have no substantial evidence of foul play, our minds remain open. We are looking at all possibilities, and we continue to pursue any information we can in an attempt to make sense of what might have happened," Kearns said. "We believe all the participants, to include the public, are going to make a difference in this case."
Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the Hunterdon County prosecutor’s office through the Hunterdon County Communications Center at 908-284-6162.
