Berks native part of 'The Amazing Race's' new season

A Berks County native is adding a reality TV show to his already 'amazing' resume.
Rowan Joseph will be competing on "The Amazing Race" with his best friend, Shane Partlow.
The duo will race around the world for $1 million during the grueling challenge adventure.
"It was fun with the other teams, we literally told them that we were high stakes bingo players," said Joseph, who was raised in Shillington.
The two men are actually performers. They star in the longest-running Actor's Equity Association touring stage play in the country called, "The Queen of Bingo." Both men have also had roles on hit TV shows and movies.
Joseph graduated from the former Holy Name High School, now called Berks Catholic High School.
"Berks County has been a great place to grow up. The people are wonderful," said Joseph.
Now, his family, friends and the entire country will get to see the two travel the world and go up against 10 other teams.
"We grew up where you had to use a map, so we had a little advantage with that," said Partlow.
The actors applied for the show before, but were turned down. This past spring they made the cut, and now they call themselves Abbott and Costello on safari.
"We always say we don't care whether you're laughing with us or at us, as long as you're laughing," said Joseph.
Joseph and Partlow hope they get laughs when they hit the stage Friday and Saturday in Berks County. They will perform "The Queen of Bingo" at Berks Catholic High School at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday. They will also perform a matinee at 3 p.m. Saturday. If you mention you saw them on 69 News, they will take $5 off your ticket.
"We're big believers in paying it forward, not that we necessarily won. I'm not saying anything about that," joked Joseph.
"We started, we finished and we lived. It's a lot harder to do it than to watch," said Partlow.
The Amazing Race premieres Sunday at 8 p.m.
