Berks County crowds turn out for Black Friday

Bargain hunters were out in full force across Berks County on a busy Black Friday.
The registers were ringing, and bags were being stuffed full of savings. The signs were everywhere inside Kohl's in Spring Township, and a long line stretched around the store as shoppers took advantage of deep discounts.
"I've got my friend, Beth, with me. So one of us stands in line while the other grabs what we need to grab," said Jen Vaux, who has shopped on Black Friday for the past 11 years.
Christmas music serenaded a steady flow of foot traffic into Cabela's in Tilden Township. Inside, a sea of shoppers rifled through racks and down aisles during the bargain bonanza.
"I've been to a million different places to buy my hunting gear and my firearms, there's no place like this," said Josh Dudley, who waited in line since 4 a.m.
"We come here every year on Black Friday. This is the only store I come to because it's so big, people are polite and you can get around," said Joe Marchei, who was shopping with his family.
Best Buy in Wyomissing opened at 6 p.m. Thanksgiving night, and there was a steady flow of shoppers all day Friday.
"Crazy! The crowds are crazy, the lines are crazy!" said Faustina Mantey, who normally does all her shopping online.
"They were lined up around the building last night, so we're pleased with the results," said Daniel Schwalenberg, general manager of Best Buy.
Despite the crowds, shoppers told 69 News the deals were worth waiting in line for this year.
