Berks Catholic and Brandywine boys get league wins
The Fleetwood boys have turned things around this year in terms of wins and losses on the basketball court.
That being said, the Tigers had their hands full Thursday night. Berks Catholic has proven to be on the area's top teams again. Thursday, they were in Fleetwood looking for a road win.
The Saints really showed why they are one of the top teams in Berks County. Berks Catholic pulled away for a 61-30 victory over the Tigers.
BC outscored Fleetwood 27-13 over the final two quarters to put it away.
Chris Warren paced the Saints with 19 points. Connor Jack scored 13 while Nana Foulland added 11.
Jeff Estima led the way for Fleetwood with 9 points.
Berks Catholic (7-0, 15-3) will play at Hamburg Tuesday. Fleetwood (3-4, 8-10) will visit Conrad Weiser on Tuesday.
Down the road in Topton, the Brandywine Heights prevailed in a tight game with Tulpehocken, 52-47.
The Bullets outscored the Trojans 22-15 in the final quarter in what proved to be the difference.
Brandywine's Alec Hess dropped 15 points to lead all scorers. Matthew Boyer added 11.
Robert Ekvall scored 12 points to top the Trojans. Kevin Berry was also in double figures with 11.
Brandywine Heights (4-2, 5-11) will be at Kutztown Saturday afternoon. Tulpehocken (2-5, 7-11) hosts Conrad Weiser Saturday.
