Fred has returned to 69-WFMZ-TV as a dayside assignment editor, a position he held from September 2006 to September 2009. He monitors the 69 News tiplines, emails, and scanners for breaking news and stories of interest to our viewers.

Fred's television career started with an internship at KYW-TV in the summer of 1991. It turned out he was in the right place at the right time. Shortly after assisting with coverage of the death of former Philadelphia Mayor Frank Rizzo, Fred was asked to join the staff of KYW's morning news, then called "Newsday."

Fred eventually moved on to "Inquirer News Tonight," which evolved into "WB17 News at Ten," at WPHL TV. Fred was nightside assignment editor there for 10 years before moving on to CN8/The Comcast Network. That was followed by Fred's first stint at WFMZ. Fred went back to Philadelphia and worked at NBC10 for a brief time, but he missed the Lehigh Valley. When his "old job" became available in Allentown in early 2011, he didn't think twice about accepting the position.

Fred enjoys the daily challenges of getting information quickly and accurately to residents of the Lehigh Valley.

When Fred's not at work, he enjoys spending time with his wife and playing "cool uncle" to several nieces and nephews. Fred's "man cave" includes thousands of records and CDs from all eras and genres.
