Animal control officer hurt in crash

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

An Allentown animal control officer was seriously injured Friday when his vehicle rolled onto its side, trapping him inside, police said.

The accident, involving the animal control vehicle and another vehicle, happened at 6th and Walnut streets.

The animal control officer was trapped in his overturned vehicle and had to be freed by city firefighters, said police, adding that he suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

No one else was injured, police said.

Police said they believe no animals were in the animal control vehicle at the time of the accident.
