The Alvernia men knocked off Arcadia on Wednesday night to advance to the MAC Commonwealth Championship game. Albright could not follow suit, falling in the other semifinal to Lycoming.

READING, Pa. -

The top-seeded Alvernia men defeated (4) Arcadia Wednesday night, 69-66, in a Commonwealth tournament semifinal game on Jack McCloskey Court. The Crusaders advanced to the MAC Commonwealth Championship game on Saturday.

Brian Parker paced the Crusaders with 27 points. Terrance Bridgers tallied 13 while Lamont Clark added 11.

Alvernia would face either (3) Lycoming or cross-town rival and second-seeded Albright who met in the other semifinal Wednesday evening.

Lycoming came into the Bollman Center and knocked off the Lions, 80-78, preventing what could have been an all-Reading Commonwealth title game.

Dave Singleton dropped 21 points to lead Albright. Kyle Jordan and Pedro Perez both had 20 while Zach Benjamin had 13, but it was not enough to lift the Lions.

Lycoming will play at Alvernia on Saturday for the conference championship at a time to be determined.
