ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

The Allentown Rescue Mission is asking Lehigh Valley residents to pitch in to feed the hungry this holiday season.

The organization launched its annual "Thanks for Giving" food drive at the KNBT Bank at 9th and Hamilton streets, which is one of the many drop-off locations.

If the food drive is successful, organizers said it can feed the homeless for months.

"Last year, we collected about 37,000 pounds of and cleaning supplies like trash bags, laundry detergent, paper products, things that we really need for the shelter operations and for the rescue mission. So, it's a very valuable event for us," said Gary Millspaugh.

You can find a list of drop-off locations on the Allentown Rescue Mission's website.
