69 News Week In Review

It's time now to take a look back at the stories making headlines this week in the 69 News week in review.
On Monday, what should have been a moment of triumph ended in tragedy near the finish line of the Boston Marathon.
Three people were killed and nearly 200 injured in separate bombings near the marathon finish line.
Many residents from the 69 News viewing area either participated in or attended the event. No residents with local ties were hurt.
Local runners included a local college women's soccer coach who crossed the finish line less than 30 seconds before the first explosion.

Tuesday, authorities say a Bucks County family found dead in a garage on Monday died from carbon monoxide poisoning.
According to the Bucks County District Attorney, 59-year-old Garry Ritenauer of Milford Township took his own life when he let his car run inside a garage.
His wife and their 16-year-old and 10-year-old daughters all died while trying to save him.

Wednesday, the saga continues over Allentown's water and sewer systems.
The public got its first chance to sound off on the $220 million proposal by the Lehigh County Authority to lease the city's water and sewer systems.
Mayor Ed Pawlowski says the lease will allow the city to fund its growing pension problem.. but opponents say the proposal still has more questions than answers.

Thursday, tense moments in the quiet Berks County community of Laureldale.
Police had guns aimed at a home during a domestic dispute that turned into a standoff.
The standoff ended peacefully in about an hour when police were able to remove a man from a home in the 3400 block of Freemont Street.
Police say the female victim is okay after being treated at an area hospital.

Friday, the harrowing standoff in Boston comes to an end with the arrest of one of the two Boston bombing suspects.
Police took the 19-year-old suspect into custody after he was found injured underneath the tarp of a covered boat.
The suspect's 26-year-old brother was killed while fleeing from police.
