5th grader recites 202 numbers of Pi to win contest

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -

If you're in the know when it comes to numbers, you know March 14 is Pi Day.

Pi is the mathematical approximation 3.14, which is used to find the area and circumference of round objects.

Cleveland Elementary School in Allentown held its annual Pi bee Thursday afternoon.

Fifth grade students were challenged to recite Pi as far past the decimal point as they could.

At the end of the competition, the top two students got to pick a teacher to pie in the face.
