5 arrested in connection with Radio Shack robbery
Five people are in custody, accused of robbing a Radio Shack store Thursday night in East Stroudsburg, Monroe County.
The Stroud Area Regional Police received a call around 7:30 p.m. for a report of a robbery in progress at the store, in Pocono Plaza.
While looking through the store window, police saw a store employee in a red shirt exit the back room, followed by an individual in a black sweatshirt wearing a black face mask, police said.
When police ordered the suspect to the ground, the person fled out the back door, and police followed out the back where they saw a dark colored four-door sedan traveling in reverse at a high rate of speed, police said.
The car was stopped and five suspects were arrested. They were identified as:
John A. Carter, 26 of New York, New York
Vincent T. Webb, 21 of Brooklyn, New York
Earlette Pittman, 19 of Binghamton, New York

All five were charged with robbery and related charges. At the time of the robbery, the suspects tried to flee with an undisclosed amount of cash, and several iPads and iPhones, police said.
A handgun used by a suspect was also recovered, police said.
Two employees at Radio Shack were not hurt.
