Four people were injured in an accident involving a car that ran a stop sign near Topton, police said.

LONGSWAMP TWP., Pa. -

Four people were injured in an accident involving a car that ran a stop sign near Topton, police said.

The crash happened shortly before 1 p.m. Friday at State and Smith streets in Longswamp Township.

A Corvette was traveling on Smith Street when the driver, police said, ignored a stop sign and traveled into the path of a PT Cruiser on State Street.

Two people were in the Corvette; a woman and two children were in the PT Cruiser.

Four of the five people were transported to the hospital for treatment of what police described as moderate injuries.
