2 Montgomery County 9th graders took pellet guns to school

Police in Montgomery County say weapons were brought onto the grounds of three schools. on Thursday.

Towamencin Township police say they got a report that two ninth grade students had weapons at North Montco Technical Career Center, 1265 Sumneytown Pike in Lansdale and at Pennfield Middle School, 726 Forty Foot Road in Hatfield.

After investigating, they found a 14 year-old and a 15 year-old with a pellet gun and a bb gun at Pennfield Middle School on Thursday.

According to the North Penn School District website, classmates of the students reported seeing the guns, and the students didn't threaten anyone at anytime.

The guns were similar to paint ball guns which shoot spherical plastic pellets.

Police say both are being charged with possession of firearms on school grounds.

Also on Thursday, North Penn High School security officers found an unoccupied pickup truck on school grounds with numerous knives inside.

The 18-year-old student who drove the truck was located, and when officers searched the truck, they found a 10" long 'Gerber' knife, a KA Bar knife and a multi-blade style knife.

The student was taken into custody and will be charged with possession of weapons on school property.
