14th 'Best Places to Work in Pa.' list includes area businesses
The non-profit organization Team Pennsylvania Foundation has named its top employers for 2013.
The alphabetical list was released Monday of its 2013 100 Best Places to Work in Pa.
The list represents companies with more than 34,100 employees throughout the state.
According to Team Pa., the Best Places to Work in PA program is generally made up of two groups of companies: 50 medium-sized (25-250 employees) and 50 large-sized companies (251 employees or more).
A survey is sent to both employers and employees from hundreds of companies from across the commonwealth.
However, this year, more small/medium-sized companies scored higher marks than large-sized companies, so the list is made up of 72 small/medium-sized firms and 28 from the large category.
Among the winners in the large category:
Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A., Allentown
And in the small/medium company category:
American Bank, Andesa Services Inc., Allentown;
Adaptik Corporation, Bethlehem;
Gateway Ticketing Systems, Inc., Boyertown, Berks Co.;
AWeber Communications, Chalfont, Bucks Co.;
Vigon International, Inc., E. Stroudsburg, Monroe Co.;
Sealstrip Corporation, Gilbertsville, Montgomery Co.
Raylon Corporation, Reading
Utilities Employees Credit Union, Reading
